How do I add teammates to my TubeAI account?
Updated September 27, 2026
Team Collaboration lets you share your TubeAI account with editors, writers or managers. Members sign in with their own email and don't need a paid plan of their own. Inside your team they use your credits, history, folders, boards and connected channels.
Creating and managing a team is available on plans that include Team Collaboration. See the Billing page.
Create your team
- Open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar and go to Settings > Team.
- Under Create Your Team, enter a team name (2 to 50 characters).
- Press Create Team. You appear as the first member, with the Owner role.
Each account can own one team. Use the pencil icon to rename it, or the trash icon to delete it. Deleting the team removes all members but does not touch your own data.
Add a member
- In Add Team Member, enter the person's email address.
- Choose a role: Full Access or Read-Only.
- Press the add button.
There is no invitation to accept: the person becomes a member immediately. They receive an email letting them know and explaining how to switch into the team.
- Active: the email already belongs to a TubeAI account, so they can use the team straight away.
- Pending: they don't have a TubeAI account yet. Their status changes to Active automatically when they sign up or log in with that same email.
Roles: Full Access and Read-Only
- Full Access: can do everything in the team workspace, including generating content, chatting with Hugo, and editing folders and boards.
- Read-Only: can view everything, including history, reports, dashboards, folders and boards, but cannot change anything. That includes generating content, chatting with Hugo, saving edits to titles or scripts, changing folders or boards, and changing channel connections. Read-Only members can still contact support.
Switch into the team
Members open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar and choose the team under Switch account. The page reloads into the team workspace. To go back, they choose Personal Account.
Inside the team, everything runs on the owner's plan and credit balance. Back on their personal account, members use their own plan and credits.
Billing and credits
All team activity is charged to the owner's single credit balance. Only the owner can see Billing, Credits and Transactions for the team. A member who opens those pages inside the team is asked to switch to their personal account.
Remove a member
In Team Members, click the trash icon next to the person and confirm. They lose access to the team, and it can take up to 30 minutes for an already-open session to lose access completely. Members cannot leave a team themselves; the owner removes them.
If the owner changes plan
If the owner moves to a plan without Team Collaboration, members can still switch into the team, but they only get what the owner's new plan includes. The owner cannot add, remove or view members until they are back on a plan that includes Team Collaboration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do my teammates need their own paid plan?
No. Inside your team they use your plan and your credits. A free account is enough for them to join.
Can a Read-Only member chat with Hugo?
No. Read-Only members can view everything but cannot make changes, and chatting with Hugo counts as a change. Give them Full Access if they need Hugo.
My teammate says they can't see the team. Why?
Check their status in Team Members. If it says Pending, they need to sign up or log in with the exact email you added. Then they switch into the team from Switch account in the account menu.
Can I have more than one team?
You can own one team. You can be a member of other people's teams at the same time and switch between them from the account menu.
