Should I use Hugo Strategist or the tool pages?

You can create everything in TubeAI in two ways: by asking Hugo Strategist in chat, or by opening a tool page directly (Scripts, Thumbnail Studio, Quick Ideas, Titles & Description). Both run the same generation, at the same credit price, and save the result to the same history. The difference is how you work: Hugo is a conversation, the tool pages give you every control.

How creating in Hugo works

1. Tell Hugo what you want, for example "write a 10-minute script about budget travel in Japan" or "give me titles for this video" with a link.
2. Hugo shows a setup card under its reply, already filled in from the conversation: the source, the channel, the count, the format and so on. You can change any option on the card.
3. Nothing runs and nothing is charged until you press Generate. The button shows the credit cost.
4. The result appears as a card in the chat, and it is also saved in that tool's history.

On the web, Hugo never starts a script, thumbnail, title or idea generation on its own: pressing Generate is always your decision. Video Insight reports and audience reports are the exception: Hugo starts those directly and tells you in the chat.

When Hugo is the better choice

• Research and creation in one place. Ask what is working in your niche, then turn the answer into a script or thumbnails without leaving the chat.
• Chaining steps. Go from ideas to a script to titles to thumbnails in one conversation. Each result card has shortcuts, such as "Create a script from this title".
• Editing from the chat. The script card is a full editor (edit, split and rewrite lines), title cards can branch into variations, and thumbnail cards support Magic Edit with text instructions.
• Repeating work on a schedule. Workflows let Hugo run a chain of generations for you, once or on a timer, on plans that include workflows.
• Working from your phone. Hugo on Telegram can start the same generations after you confirm.

When the tool page is the better choice

Some controls only exist on the tool pages:

• Thumbnail Studio: uploading your own face photo (Host Face), Magic Edit with reference images, the Colors Editor, Create Variation, the Format and Style presets, YouTube Preview and the Gallery.
• Scripts: Your Voice profiles. Pick one in "Voice Finetune" on the Scripts page; the Hugo setup card has no voice profile option.
• Titles & Description: the full title variation tree and PDF export.
• Quick Ideas: browsing and searching all your past batches in "Your Ideas". Hugo can set up a Quick Ideas run, but it cannot pick a content bucket for you: switch the Mode option on the card to Bucket and choose it yourself, or use "Generate Ideas" on the bucket row in Dashboard > My Videos.

The tool pages also show every result in full screen, with history panels you can scroll and search.

What stays the same either way

• Price. Each generation costs the same credits in Hugo and on the tool page.
• Plan options. Options that depend on your plan (for example Pro mode thumbnails or longer scripts) are the same in both places. If Hugo proposes an option your plan does not include, the card switches to the version you can use and Hugo tells you.
• One run at a time. You can run one generation of each type at a time, and a Hugo run and a page run share that slot. If a script is already running from Hugo, the Scripts page waits for it.
• History. Everything lands in the same history, so you can start in Hugo and keep editing on the tool page, or the other way round.

What costs extra in Hugo

Every message you send to Hugo costs 3 credits, on top of any generation you run. Pressing Generate on a setup card does not add another chat charge. If Hugo calls a research specialist during a message (for example web or YouTube research), each specialist call costs 2 credits. If you want to spend only the generation's credits, use the tool page directly.

Want a quick answer instead of the full generator? On titles and video ideas, choose "Let Hugo suggest" on the card, and Hugo writes suggestions in the chat for the cost of one normal message.
