How do I generate a video script?

The Script Writer turns a video idea into a complete, ready-to-shoot YouTube script — long-form or a 1-minute Short — matched to your voice and grounded in live web research with citations.

Generating a script

1. Open Scripts under Content Creation in the sidebar.
2. Enter your video idea, or start from a saved Viral Idea.
3. Pick the script type: Regular (long-form, with length options of Auto, 5, 10, or 15 minutes — 20 and 30 minutes plus custom lengths on higher plans) or Short (a tight 1-minute script).
4. Optionally point Style Match at any channel or playlist URL — the tool studies its recent videos and follows that tone, structure, and pacing. If it's your own connected channel, real retention data sharpens the match.
5. Optionally add a sponsor's webpage and talking points to get a natural sponsor segment written in (long-form only). Leave it blank and the script is guaranteed sponsor-free.
6. Generate. Shorts typically take 1-3 minutes, long-form 3-5 minutes.

Editing your script

Scripts arrive as individually editable lines, not a wall of text. You can:

• Click any line to edit it in place, or split, merge, and delete lines — all free
• Select a section and ask the AI to rewrite it (3 credits per rewrite, with the original preserved)
• Undo up to 50 steps
• See inline citations for researched facts, plus color-coded visual cues for pauses, emphasis, B-roll, and on-screen text
• Export to PDF or read from the built-in teleprompter

Voice presets

With Voice Finetune you can save reusable presets — a description of your persona plus dos and don'ts — that apply to every script, so you never have to redescribe your style.

Costs

• Standard script (any length, including Shorts): 25 credits
• AI section rewrite: 3 credits
• Deep Research (Swarm) script — a multi-angle research pass with live financial data and charts, Enterprise only: 1,000 credits

Credits are only charged when a script finishes successfully; failed generations are refunded automatically.
