What is Hugo Strategist and how do I use it?

Hugo Strategist is your YouTube strategist inside TubeAI. It can see your channel data, your past generations, your folders and TubeAI's video database. Ask in plain language and Hugo pulls the right data, answers, and can set up scripts, thumbnails, titles and ideas for you.

Where to find Hugo

• Full page: click Hugo at the top of the sidebar. This is where TubeAI opens when you sign in.
• On any page: click Ask Hugo or the round Hugo bubble. Hugo opens in a panel and can see what's on that page, such as your script, your titles or your folder.
• On your phone: through our Telegram bot, @HugoTubeAIBot.

What Hugo can do

• Look up channels and videos, on YouTube or in TubeAI's database
• Find and reopen anything you have generated before
• Create folders, add channels and videos to them, and create or edit ideas in My Ideas
• Set up generations: scripts, thumbnails, titles and descriptions, and Quick Ideas
• Run Video Insight and audience reports
• Research the web, social media and YouTube trends, on plans that include these specialists
• Open a support ticket for you, after you approve the message

What a message costs

Every message costs 3 credits. When Hugo calls a research specialist (for example web research or the database agent), that call costs 2 more credits. Each specialist runs at most once per message. If a specialist or the message fails, those credits are refunded automatically.

If you press Stop before Hugo writes anything, the message is refunded. Once Hugo has started writing, stopping keeps the partial answer and nothing is refunded.

Fast, Balanced and Max

Choose a response mode from the dropdown in the message box:

• Fast: quickest answers from your channel data and direct lookups, without paid specialists. Memory is off in this mode.
• Balanced (default): Hugo calls specialists only when a question needs them, and usually asks before spending credits on research.
• Max: deepest research, using every specialist your plan includes. Slower, and more likely to use specialist credits. Available on plans that include Max mode.

The price of a message is the same in every mode.

Generating from chat

On the web, Hugo never starts a script, thumbnail, titles set or Quick Ideas run on its own. It shows a setup card under its reply with everything pre-filled. Nothing is charged until you press Generate, and then you pay that tool's normal price. Video Insight and audience reports are the exception: Hugo starts them directly after confirming with you.

The full editors (script editor, thumbnail grid, editable titles) appear on the full Hugo page. In the floating panel you get a short card with an Open in Hugo button.

Everything you create with Hugo can also be made on the tool pages (Scripts, Thumbnail Studio, Quick Ideas, Titles & Description), at the same price and with the same history. Plan-dependent features

Attachments (PDFs, images, text files), voice input, long-term memory, Max mode, workflows and the research specialists depend on your plan. See Settings > Billing for what your plan includes.

Your conversations

Open the history button in the chat header to find past conversations. Search matches conversation titles, not the text inside messages. You can pin, rename or delete a conversation; deleting happens immediately without a confirmation step.
