I am the author of "Western Self-Contempt: Oikophobia in the Decline of Civilizations" (Cornell University Press) and other works. I hold a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Classical Philology from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. My main areas of specialization are aesthetics, political philosophy, the philosophy of history, the philosophy of religion, and the Greco-Roman world. I was born in Sweden but immigrated as a child to the United States.
