EducationInContext explores education, race, culture, identity, power, and the lived experiences of Black and Brown communities through conversation, commentary, storytelling, spoken word poetry, visual poems, and original creative projects. We challenge dominant narratives by examining education systems, anti-Blackness, racial equity, the experiences of Black educators and students, educational leadership, Black identity, Black culture, social justice, and racial justice, while creating space for stories that extend beyond the classroom. From dialogue to spoken word, visual poetry, storytelling, cultural commentary, and creative films, EducationInContext asks what history, systems, relationships, and lived experience can teach us about the world we inhabit. We believe storytelling can be scholarship. Art can be analysis. Lived experience can be knowledge. What we don’t name, we normalize. Subscribe for conversations and creative work that put lived experience back into context.
