Welcome to For the Love of Goats — the channel where science meets storytelling to help you raise healthy, happy goats. What started as a homesteading adventure in 2002—when my family moved to the country to grow our own food—quickly turned into a passion for goats. I bought three goats to make cheese, and soon had a herd of over 20. Today, I share what I’ve learned so you can avoid the common mistakes goat owners make. This channel is the video companion to my podcast For the Love of Goats, bringing you expert interviews, demonstrations, and practical advice rooted in evidence-based care. Whether you're raising goats for milk, meat, fiber, or fun, you'll find reliable guidance to help you succeed. I'm Deborah Niemann—goat enthusiast, educator, and author of Raising Goats Naturally, Goats Giving Birth, Homegrown and Handmade, and more. Subscribe to learn how to care for your goats confidently and compassionately—without relying on random advice from the internet.
