From City to Smallholding: Our Welsh Journey

We’re a British couple in our 60s renovating a ruined farmstead in central Portugal. Our focus is on sustainable, respectful renovation — reusing tiles, timber and stone already on the land, preserving the character of old buildings, and combining traditional methods with modern efficiency and comfort. We’re not chasing extremes or quick transformations. Instead, we take a practical, thoughtful approach to creating a warm, resilient home for later life, sharing what works, what doesn’t, and what we learn along the way. New episodes every Saturday morning, documenting real renovation, rural life in Portugal, and how to do things carefully, economically, and with respect for what was here before.
