I'm Hugo, an architectural designer by day and a serial DIY project starter the rest of the time. Back in 2018, I built my first home. During COVID, I somehow convinced myself renovating a hoarder condo sounded like a good idea. In 2023, I started Malartic Design Build and had the opportunity to build a few custom homes. Somewhere along the way, I realized my favourite part has always been the process of creating. You'll find home renovations, backyard projects, woodworking, custom builds, and whatever other slightly ridiculous project I convince myself I can finish over a weekend. My goal is simple: take the design principles I learned at the office and apply them to practical, affordable DIY projects that almost anyone can build. Expect questionable deadlines, a healthy dose of sarcasm, and plenty of learning as I go. Subscribe and come along for the ride.
