HVACR Survival is about the reality of life in the trade. I’m Rick Dirmeyer, and I’ve spent over 30 years as a service tech navigating the highs and lows of commercial and industrial refrigeration. I’m here to share the practical, real-world diagnostics that manuals often leave out—from troubleshooting Stoelting ice cream machines to servicing chillers, boilers, and industrial generators. This isn't about being a "super tech"; it’s about the grit, the mistakes, and the hard-won lessons learned from three decades on the front lines. What we tackle together: 🛠️ Commercial Refrigeration: Soft serve (Stoelting/Taylor), rack systems, reach-ins. ❄️ Industrial HVAC: Chillers, geothermal, and Make-up Air Units (MAU). ⚡ Power Systems: Generator service and electrical troubleshooting. 🧰 Tool Reviews: Honest field-testing of gear from TruTech Tools and Fluke.
