Hi, I'm Kathleen Rietz, a mixed media artist and educator. A lifelong native of Illinois, my paintings are a memoir of my explorations of the ever-changing landscape and seasons. My paintings are collected nationally and internationally, and I've won national and regional awards for my art, featured in publications such as Create Magazine, International Artist and Voyage Michigan. I graduated from the American Academy of Art, Chicago, with a degree in commercial art, and spent 3 decades as a freelance designer in the home decor, apparel, publishing and gift industries. I then spent 5 years as a product development manager, overseeing projects from ideation through delivery by overseas vendors. These experiences laid the foundation for my venture into my current creative journey as a painter, apparel designer and educator. I love teaching others to embrace their creativity, begin an art practice and flourish in that practice. Find out more at https://kathleenrietz.com
