Kevin takes an eccentric and brutally primitive approach to electronics, and breadboards various circuits to demonstrate how they work. * * * * * Since several people have asked, I'm a semi-retired enginerd, not a professor. I have an A.B. in math from Dartmouth, a MSEE from Arizona State, and a PhD in computer science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have 40+ years in industry, working for such outfits as Honeywell, Northrop(-Grumman) and GE Aerospace. Most of my paid projects for the last couple of decades have been related to machine vision, in areas as diverse as medical imaging, TV broadcasting, and inspection of aircraft engine parts. They all seem to involve a little bit of electronics, a little bit of optics, and a lot of math-intensive computer software.
