I'm merging Tech4Dads and Tech4Dads Workshop into a single channel, and I wanted to explain exactly why instead of just doing it quietly. The real reason: YouTube is raising the watch-hour requirement for the YouTube Partner Program from 4,000 to 8,000 hours, effective February 1, 2027. Splitting my content across two channels meant splitting my watch hours too — and neither channel was on track to clear the new bar on its own. Combined, they are. That's the whole story. No spin. What this means for you: @tech4dads becomes home base — every future review, buying guide, and behind-the-scenes/workflow video posts there, full stop. The content itself isn't changing. Same testing, same standards, same "will this actually hold up" approach you've been watching for 2 years. The old channel isn't disappearing overnight — I'm keeping it up for a while so old links and videos still work while everyone gets settled.
Ask Hugo why a video took off, which ideas would work for your channel, and what to title it — backed by YouTube Explorer data on Tech4Dads Archive and the channels around it.
