Have you ever dreamed of leaving behind the busy 9-to-5 to create a slower, simpler life? We’re Jill and Noel, and we made that leap, leaving the UK for rural Kerry, Ireland, to build a new home in a place that feels almost like stepping into a fairy tale — a cottage abandoned for 30 years, hidden in a forest clearing in the wild west of Ireland. With no gas, electricity or running water, we started from scratch, learning everything the hard way. Now we’re bringing our cottage back to life, creating a low-energy forever home and rewilding our 7 acres of land. Join us as we explore this beautiful, ancient landscape, its stories and mysteries, and discover the joys, challenges and adventures of creating a new life for ourselves, later in life.
