About

My sobriety date is January 2, 2012. Before that: crack at fifteen, then heroin and speed, jails, ten rehabs, more detoxes than I kept count of. I got out of prison the last time at forty-two. Everything I owned was in a black trash bag — two pairs of pants my mom bought me while I was inside, and some hygiene my sister sent in. My family wanted nothing to do with me. My daughter wanted nothing to do with me. I film because the fastest way I've ever reached anybody new is telling them what I was actually like. Somebody three days in doesn't need a clinician's sentence. They need to hear it from a person who was worse off than they are and isn't anymore. The videos are free and they stay free. Support goes straight back into the cause — helping people, getting people into treatment, and paying for production. Support the cause: https://buymeacoffee.com/thesoberspot
