Hi! I’m Dr. Vanda Lerer, a mycologist with a PhD and a serious love for fungi, mycoviruses, and lichens. I’ve also worked with bacteria and bacteriophages, so microbiology is kind of my playground. This channel is my way of sharing everything I know (and keep learning) about these fascinating, often forgotten organisms. Fungi and lichens are everywhere, doing amazing things—and yet most people don’t even notice them. I want to change that. You’ll find videos here that explain the biology, physiology, and chemistry of fungi, mycoviruses, and lichens in a way that’s simple, clear, and hopefully a bit fun. It’s not just for mycology students—anyone with a curious mind is welcome. So if you're into the weird, beautiful side of nature… stick around. There’s a lot to explore.
Ask Hugo why a video took off, which ideas would work for your channel, and what to title it — backed by YouTube Explorer data on VandaVision: Fungi, MycoViruses, Lichens and the channels around it.
