Welcome to Whiplash! I'm a veteran, writer, and storyteller exploring the ideas that shape our world. My military experience and love of fiction, philosophy, and history influence how I view culture, morality, leadership, masculinity, human nature, and storytelling. This channel examines philosophy, rhetoric, ideology, mythology, literature, film, comics, and video games through the lens of fiction. From Conan the Barbarian and Mad Max to fantasy, science fiction, and modern pop culture, I explore the themes beneath the surface and what they can teach us about ourselves. Expect video essays, literary analysis, character studies, philosophical discussions, and cultural criticism covering morality, power, civilization, freedom, heroism, masculinity, rhetoric, worldbuilding, and the impact of great stories. Stories matter. Ideas matter. Let's talk about both. ⚔️ Check out my sword & sorcery novel Wrath of Torrak, available now on Amazon!
