There was a time when much of what we needed to know was simply passed down. A mother taught her daughter how to preserve the harvest. A father taught his son how to build. Families knew how to grow food, stock a pantry, cook from scratch, mend what was worn, and make use of what they had. Somewhere along the way, many of these skills became less common. Not because they stopped being useful, but because modern life made it easier to simply buy the things we once knew how to make. Here I share the practical skills and traditional knowledge of simple living, modern homesteading, and old-fashioned traditions. My favorite hard skills include canning, dehydrating, gardening, building and crafting. Wisdom Preserved is about learning the skills that make us more capable, resourceful, and self-sufficient—and making sure that knowledge has a chance to be passed on. We aren't just preserving skills. We're preserving the wisdom that makes them possible.
