David and Jelena, renowned worldwide for their online tutorials and in-person workshops around the world, also serve as the directors of the Ashtanga Yoga Centre of Toronto, established in 2008. In 2003 David embarked on his first trip to Mysore, India, where he immersed himself in the teachings of his revered teacher, Sharath Jois. Since then, he has made annual pilgrimages to Mysore to deepen and enrich his practice and teaching. David holds Certification from the Sharath Yoga Centre. Jelena’s path to yoga was intertwined with her passion for dance. As a former ballet dancer for 16 years, the structured rigour of the Ashtanga Yoga practice resonated deeply with her. Drawn to the discipline’s emphasis on mindfulness of movement and the profound connection between breath and practice, Jelena dedicated her entire focus to Ashtanga Yoga in 2009. Jelena’s holds Level 2 Authorization with the Sharath Yoga Centre.
