The Importance of Being is about what happens when you stop living your life the way you thought you had to - and start asking what you actually want. I retired at 56 and discovered that retirement isn't simply about money or stopping work. It's about time, freedom, identity, enough and learning to trust yourself. Here I talk about early retirement, money and intentional living - but also the bigger questions underneath. How much is enough? Who gets to decide what a good life looks like? And what happens when life doesn't go to plan. I don't have all the answers. I believe it's about thinking for yourself, questioning the rules we live by, and giving ourselves permission to life differently. But here, I am documenting my life, my thoughts and following my curiosity. A note about this community: different views are welcome and respectful disagreement is part of a good conversation.
